Setting Up WhatsApp Business API



The WhatsApp Business API gives you full messaging power — bulk broadcasts, verified sender, and unlimited scale. Here's how to connect it to HelpKit.

Prerequisites



Before you start, you'll need:
  • A Facebook Business Manager account (business.facebook.com)
  • A dedicated phone number (not currently active on WhatsApp)
  • Your business must not be in a prohibited industry (gambling, tobacco, etc.)
  • A valid business website or Facebook/Instagram page


  • Step-by-Step Setup



    1. Start the Connection Flow

    In HelpKit, go to Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp Business API and click Connect API.

    2. Connect Facebook Business Manager

    You'll be redirected to Meta's embedded signup. Log in with your Facebook account that has admin access to your Business Manager.

    3. Verify Your Business

    Meta may require business verification for higher messaging tiers. Upload:
  • Business registration certificate
  • Utility bill or government-issued document with business address


  • Verification typically takes 24-48 hours.

    4. Add Your Phone Number

  • Select an existing number from Business Manager, or
  • Add a new number and verify via SMS or voice call OTP


  • 5. Set Your Display Name

    Choose a display name (appears in WhatsApp chats). Meta reviews display names — use your actual business name.

    6. Complete in HelpKit

    After Meta setup, return to HelpKit and confirm the connection. You'll see your number appear as Connected in Integrations.

    Tiers increase automatically based on messaging quality and volume.

    After Setup



  • Create your first Message Template for outbound campaigns
  • Set up your business profile (logo, description, address)
  • Test with a few contacts before scaling
